Septentrio
Septentrio takes its name from the Latin word for “north” — a term once used to describe the seven stars of the Big Dipper, a constellation that has guided travelers for centuries. The name evokes direction, distance, and quiet luminosity — all qualities that resonate deeply with the trio’s musical identity.
Formed by three musicians with strong ties to the North, Septentrio explores a soundscape where jazz meets openness, lyricism, and subtle interplay.
Their music blends voice, piano, and saxophone into intimate, atmospheric textures that echo both tradition and improvisation.
With a repertoire that includes original compositions and reimagined traditional melodies, Septentrio invites listeners into a sonic world shaped by silence, breath, and the quiet magnetism of northern light.
